For the last 3 weekends, we have had winter storm watches in the Detroit area. The National Weather Service promised freezing rain and snow. For the last 3 weekends, the winter death storm never materialized, until now!
Yesterday afternoon, the watch was changed to a warning and the winter death storm was on its way. By last evening, it had started snowing, and as I write this, it is still snowing. Not sure how much snow is on the ground now, but it is at least 6 inches.
Brian, Billy and I spent the better part of the morning clearing driveways and the road. The road was a little tough because it rained this week, which turned the 1/4 inch of snow that had dusted us last Sunday in to ice. So, now we have an ice rink instead of a road.
Church was cancelled today, so we will just sit on the couch and watch movies. Unless it gets really warm and rains this week (it has happened before), it looks like we will have a white Christmas.
