Yesterday was one of those cruel weather days. I called my flight instructor (Wendy) and she said that the weather didn’t look good to fly. She offered to put me on the schedule for Thursday and I accepted. That was nice of her since Thursday is her day off. So anyway, I left work at 3pm and it was looking nice out. Sun was shining and it was 54 degrees. There was a little wind, but other than that, it was nice. I started to think that I may get to fly, then I looked toward Pontiac and all I could see was dark sky. In another 5 minutes, the dark sky was back and the day was crappy. Just like that, my flying dreams for the day evaporated. Hopefully I will get to fly tomorrow.
DISCLAIMER: The following is computer talk.
On another note, my computer is acting up. It started a couple weeks ago when I tried to boot it up. All I got was the windows logon and then a BSOD (blue screen of death). When I rebooted again, I lost my onboard network. I tried to reload the driver and it would not recognize it. Well, after a couple of reboots, I had my network back. Whatever. Everything seemed fine until I tried to play a game this weekend and all my computer would do is lock up. I checked the event log and I had a ton of errors that pointed to my motherboard. Now, I am in the process of trying to figure out what is wrong. At this point, I think it may have been my video card. Hopefully I will know soon because I hate having a broken PC.

I had problems with the new motherboard I bought. It wouldn't post, but all the other fans, etc. would spin up and everything. No video, no POST... nothing.
Thought it was everything from Power Supply to Video Card (also new) to the heatsink and setting it up correctly... nothing. Turns out the motherboard was hosed.
Sounds like you might have mobo problems but maybe indirectly related to power or video issues.
I know how frustrating it is when your primary means of "distraction" doesn't work the way you want it to.
Yeah, I have a new mobo coming and PNY is sending me a video card overnight. When I called PNY and let them know I was getting lockups after loading the latest Detonator drivers. The tech immediately told me that they wanted to replace my card. We’ll see. It is weird, I have had this configuration for almost a year and all of the sudden, I am having issues. Anyway, when did you get a new rig?
little over a month... just a ddr mobo (asus) w/ 512 pc3200 and a geforce fx5700. gives me a good bump.. next step another 512 and a new processor. love to get a 3000+ w/ the 400 FSB
Okay..... now that was a different language, there.
