After church last night, Melinda and I visited the Bachman’s to install an appraisal program for Michellee, so she can type reports in her spare time for extra money. Well, we sat around for a little bit and just talked because the program was only supposed to take 30 minutes to install. We should have known that there is no such thing as an easy install on a PC. After about 30 minutes, Melinda called me in the room to see if I could help configuring the program to send email. When I took a look at the computer, Michellee’s logon was not going online and when I logged on under Pastor Randy’s, there was so much spyware, I really couldn’t do a thing. They had the spyware that doesn’t let you go to any spyware removal sites. Well, after spending some time fooling the spyware program into letting me download an anti-spyware program, it was time to remove all the junk. Well, 30 minutes and 115 spyware instances later, we were ready to go back to Michellee’s logon to try the install of the appraisal program (while scanning for spyware, I figured out what was wrong with Michellee’s internet). This time the install went smoothly, but wouldn’t accept the email address we were trying to use. By this time, it was 11:30pm and we were all getting tired. After creating Michellee an email address through Mel’s Appraisals, we finally got the email thing to work. It would have been nice to call it a night at that point, but there were still updates to load. This took a few more minutes and we finally went home at 12am. Then we had the ice storm to deal with. Argh! Needless to say, I am tired this morning. It was good to fellowship with the Bachman’s though.
